For
over fifty years, since the Council On Mental Retardation
was created by a group of concerned parents, Parent
Outreach activities have been a core part of the Council!
About 25 years ago on a more formal basis, the Parent
Outreach program was established because parents realized
the tremendous benefits they gained through their interactions
with one another. Since that time the Council has provided
a staff person who works with the Parent Outreach Committee
to develop ways to facilitate ongoing friendships between
parents of infants, children, and adult children with
mental retardation.

Planning For The Future of Their Children With
Disabilities
Where
do we begin to figure out a safe, secure plan for our
children when we are no longer able to care for them?
Where will they live? Who will see to it that
their needs are met?
The
Council on Mental Retardation has helped families for
over 50 years to figure out the answers to these
questions. We would like to help you.
Please join other families at the
Day Spring Community Resource Center, 3430 Day
Spring Court, 40213, for
five valuable evening of information.
The next series of meetings will begin in
August of
2008.
All meetings are from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
